Okay...starting to move forward. Yesterday Ken and I attended a baby care seminar with our travel group...it was really great to see everyone. I didn't find the seminar to be "great" but we were glad we went nonetheless. I guess I was hoping it would provide more information about what to "do" in China but it was all just stuff I mostly already knew...and because Ken and I aren't first time parents...well it felt like we already know 90% of it. The very best part was meeting Shirley and Lee...the newest couple to our travel group. They are an amazing couple and I feel like Shirley and I could become really good friends...the best part is that they speak Mandarin and Lee is a Pharmacist...so great! And apparently Lee loves to shop so he is going to help us barter in China...can't wait. After the seminar, Shelby and Adrian...another couple in our travel group...hosted a BBQ at their beautiful home near the beaches. It was a really nice time...we all shared our pictures of our daughters and talked about our travel arrangements...looks like we are all going to try and meet up in Shanghai and travel from their to Nanning ....then to Beijiing and home...hooray! And we will try to leave around September 10th with the hope that we will get our babies on the 14th or 15th...can't wait. In the meantime, we are heading into holiday time with the family...cottage for a couple of days...then Ken and I are going to San Diego and then one week at the cottage with Parker bear and then all of us camping with my family at Grundy Lake...hopefully the time will fly and we will be off to see Logan soon!

Happy Canada Day!
Happy Canada Day everyone...we had a great time at the cottage this weekend. Matt and Mairi came to visit...Parker loves them so much...he really takes to them. There is something about adults that take a genuine interest in kids that they can smell...
We got an update about Logan last Friday....that she is doing well in the orphanage and is growing...but she still is pretty tiny. She is now 6.5 kg which is 14.3 pounds...and she will be 9 months old tomorrow. Glad I bought lots of 9 month and 1 year old clothes...12 months usually fits 22 pounds so we are a ways away from that! Her head is 42 cm, chest 41 cm, and her little feet are 10cm. Deborah mentioned she has the littlest feet of them all...I'm just reading a book called Snowflower and the Secret Fan about 19th century girls in China and they are currently going through foot binding...unbelievably painful! Thank goodness children don't go through that anymore...horrible! Oh, and Logan doesn't have any teeth yet...poor little thing is going to get them sooner or later and it's not fun. Good thing I'm bringing her some teethers to China.
We won't know for another couple of weeks when can travel...really frustrating but there you go...nothing much we can do about it but hope the time flies by.
